Minister: The Rev. Dr. Steven Moore

         The Rev. Dr. Steven Moore has been our minister since October, 2019.

         Rev. Steve, served as chaplain in the Canadian Armed Forces for 22 years where he developed the role of chaplains engaging local religious leaders in an environment of conflict. Since his retirement from the Forces in 2012, Rev. Steve has been engaged in congregational ministry as transitional minister at Bethel-St. Andrew’s United in Fitzroy, in various roles with the Ottawa Presbytery, and  most recently, as supply minister at Emmanuel United.

         Rev. Steve has been enjoying meeting members of the congregation, and always looks to share his experiences, and  connect with our community of faith in our journey forward. 

Director of Music: Roland Graham

     Roland is an accomplished pianist, conductor, composer and impresario. In addition to his position as Director of Music at Southminster, which he has held since the fall of 2009, he is the Artistic Director of the Verdun Classical Music Society in Montreal, QC, and director of Castenschel Choir in Chelsey, QC.  As a pianist he has been heard on CBC Radio 2 and in recital across Canada.  He has a special interest in interpreting the works of J. S. Bach, having interpreted Bach’s  Keyboard Concerto in D minor with orchestra (Ottawa, March 2011) and the fifteen Sinfonias in recital (Festival Pontiac Enchanté, July 2010). Roland is also an accomplished composer, predominantly of sacred choral music, and was proud to have debuted his “Canticles for the Evening Service” at Canterbury Cathedral (UK, 2005). He holds a Bachelor’s in Music from the University of Ottawa where he studied Piano Performance with Jean Desmarais, and a Master’s from the Université de Montréal where he studied Piano Interpretation with Jimmy Brière and Marc Durand.

Office Administrator: Martha Hanna


     Martha brings a wealth of experience to her position as Office Administrator. Her secretarial work experience includes the State of  Oregon,  Aldersgate College, Fifth Avenue Free Methodist Church, Ottawa, and  Chapel Ridge Free Methodist Church, Stittsville.

    Martha joined the staff of Southminster in the summer of 2002. Among other things, Martha is responsible for the production of the Sunday bulletins and weekly email newsletter. She maintains the church web site, looks after the books and administers rentals. On weekends you will find her providing piano accompaniment for the congregation of St. Andrew's, Aylmer Presbyterian Church.
